Mindo: One of the Five Hotspots from Pichincha Province Cloud Forest Area

Pichincha is one of our provinces where Quito, the capital of Ecuador, is located. The metropolitan disctrict was expanded in the last 10 years, and now a days the Mindo Nambillo Reserve is part of Quito.

This reserve created in 1988 is considered a biodiversity hotspot. It has circa 20.000 hectars at altitudes that go from 1400 to 4720 meters above sea level.

It is well known by birdwatchers because of the diversity and endemism of bird species, and also because of the proximity and accessibility from Quito.

If you are looking for a "quick view" or "light" adventure within a tropical rain and cloud forest, Mindo and its surroundings are the ideal area for an overnight or a longer stay.

We will be happy to organize a great adventure or holiday for you. Visit us at:, specialized in-land tour operator from Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Southamerica.
