Ecuador: A land full of diversity

Ecuador does not appear in the media too often; however, if you look for it in the internet, you will be surprised about all what you can learn about the beauties of this small country: snow capped mountains, rainforests, the pacific coast and the Galapagos Islands.

The eastern and western Andes mountain ranges include eight active and dormant volcanoes with an altitude of over 5000 meters above sea level and many other lower mountains and volcanoes, also active or eroded. Most of the main eight volcanoes still have glaciers, so you can choose to go mountain climbing, mountain hiking, mountain biking, and many other any extreme sport activity you can imagine.

If you prefer to be less active, go to the Amazon River basin to experience life in the rainforest in one of the many lodges located whithin spectacular nature reserves, or at theis rims, that still will allow you to see the wildlife and way of life this incredible area of the country.

Most certainly, the ocean is always an option for vacations. Ecuador has incredible sandy beaches with many accommodation possibilities, ranging from exclusive resorts to bed and breakfast facilities, all by the ocean side. In some locations and depending on the time of the year, it is possible to enjoy adventure activities and also see wild life.

And Galapagos, the well known archipelago due to its incredible tamed fauna, is the place where, every day, depending on the time of the year, many of its animal species still experience Darwin’s steps of evolution.

You can choose to stay in one island, in a comfortable hotel, or go on a cruise and experience the ocean while doing snorkeling or you can dive into the depths of the Galapagos to discover its marine life. As you can see, Ecuador is a land of mega diversity.
